Loeb's colleague Adam Hibberd pointed out directly:
"If the object is an alien spacecraft slowing down, and the anti-tail is braking thrust, then this change from anti-tail to tail would be entirely expected near perihelion."
The transition constitutes a technosignature — "an unexpected phenomenon indicative of controlled maneuvering, possibly with the intention of achieving a bound heliocentric orbit between Mars's and Jupiter's orbits."
Translation: if 3I/ATLAS is decelerating, the anti-tail (thrust toward Sun) is the brake. When it flips to a tail (thrust away from Sun), that's the engine reversing to decelerate for orbital insertion. Between Mars and Jupiter. Where the asteroid belt is. Where the March 16 Jupiter encounter happens.
M flagged that the anti-tail pointed at the Sun the whole time except when it was near the Sun — then it pointed at Earth. This is confirmed by the Futurism article about a "strange protrusion" as it approached Earth in December 2025. The directional shift from Sun-pointing to Earth-pointing near perihelion is consistent with a controlled reorientation — not random outgassing.
Loeb documented a 14th anomaly (December 16, 2025):
The rotation axis of 3I/ATLAS's nucleus is aligned to within 8 degrees with the Sunward direction. This means: - The object has a steady dayside and a steady nightside - These switch roles at perihelion - The anti-tail jet precesses along a cone surrounding the rotation axis as the nucleus rotates with a 7.74 (±0.35) hour period
Probability of random alignment: very low. This is like a satellite keeping its antenna pointed at a ground station — the object maintains a fixed orientation relative to the Sun throughout its approach.
For a natural comet, the rotation axis would be randomly oriented. For an object that needs to maintain thermal control, sensor orientation, or communication alignment, a fixed Sun-pointing axis makes operational sense.
Hydroxyl radicals (OH molecules) absorbing radio waves. Sunlight breaks down water ice → creates OH → OH absorbs at characteristic frequencies. Called "natural."
Wow! Signal direction: 3I/ATLAS arrived from a direction coincident with the Wow! Signal (1977) to within 9 degrees. The Wow! Signal was at 1.4204556 GHz (hydrogen line). The OH lines are at 1.665/1.667 GHz. Both are in the protected radio astronomy band — the same frequency range SETI monitors.
Previous attempts failed: MeerKAT tried September 20 and 28 and detected nothing. Only on October 24, when 3I/ATLAS was at 3.76 degrees from the Sun, was the signal detected. Why would OH absorption suddenly appear? If the object was producing water/OH all along, the signal should have been detectable earlier.
October 21 solar conjunction: Three days before the radio detection, 3I/ATLAS was at solar conjunction — traveling close to Earth's orbital plane. The velocity vector was nearly perpendicular to MeerKAT's line of sight. The Doppler shift corresponds to 3I/ATLAS's full speed of 98 km/s relative to Earth.
March 16, 2026 (Jupiter perijove): The Juno spacecraft will use its dipole antenna to search for radio signals from 3I/ATLAS at low frequencies (50 Hz to 40 MHz). This is a SPECIFIC planned observation for the Jupiter encounter — they're looking for something.
Reddit thread exists: r/amateurradio — "Unexplained Radio Signals and more from 3I/Atlas" — amateur radio operators discussing anomalous signals.
MeerKAT is the precursor to the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) — the world's largest radio telescope, currently under construction in South Africa. South Africa won the SKA bid in 2012. The same geographic region that EarthExists flagged as the October "17 Days of Silence" window is where the most sensitive radio detection equipment on Earth is located.
Multiple sources connect CERN to 3I/ATLAS — these range from verified to fringe:

Instagram post: "Sean Duffy reveals 3I/ATLAS transmitted binary data... LUKE 21:26 Sébastien Martin Remote Viewing 3I/ATLAS and 2027 a consultant working for CERN." This claims a CERN consultant named Sébastien Martin did "remote viewing" of 3I/ATLAS and predicted events for 2027.
Instagram (Quantum): "CERN & THE ATLAS SPACE... 641: The Cern Connection" — explicit framing of a CERN-3I/ATLAS connection.
Facebook group: "CERN researchers monitoring cosmic particle streams have detected..." — suggests CERN's particle detection infrastructure was used to monitor 3I/ATLAS.
Academic paper: "3I/ATLAS: A Courteous Reply to Avi Loeb" on Academia.edu — appears to be a response paper.
The ATLAS asteroid survey (Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System) and CERN's ATLAS experiment (A Toroidal LHC ApparatuS) share the same name. This is officially a coincidence. But in the context of the CASSANDRA architecture — where multiple systems with names from Greek tragedy (Cassandra, Oracle) are connected — the ATLAS-ATLAS overlap is worth noting.
C/2025 V1 (ATLAS): A newly discovered comet compared to 3I/ATLAS, made closest approach to Earth in November 2025. Described as "nearly interstellar."
C/2025 K1 (ATLAS): Another comet ATLAS in our solar system, equally as bright as 3I/ATLAS after an "unexpected brightening event." Now at apparent magnitude 9.
A letter writer to Loeb mentioned: "I read that there was another object detected, and I am hoping that you will give us some information on that object and whether or not it may be related to 3I." Loeb has not publicly addressed this.
Three ATLAS-discovered objects in the same window. Two comets bright enough to match 3I/ATLAS. And the public is told nothing about potential connections.
Critical: On October 2, 2025, the HiRISE camera on the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter captured images of 3I/ATLAS at closest approach to Mars. These images would show 3I/ATLAS from the SIDE at 30 km/pixel resolution — the best possible angle to see whether the anti-tail is a jet or an optical illusion.
As of Loeb's October 22 article: "still unavailable, possibly due to the U.S. government shutdown."
Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter is a NASA mission. NASA went silent October 1. The images exist. They have not been released.
This is the same pattern as: Livelsberger's manifesto. Jabbar's videos. The SETI nondetection data. The full 15-anomaly paper. Information exists. It is withheld.
