MAVEN observed 3I/ATLAS on October 9, 2025, capturing UV images. On December 6, 2025 — six weeks later — MAVEN suffered a "severe communications anomaly" and went silent. MAVEN orbits Mars. It observed 3I/ATLAS during the Mars close approach. Then it went dark.
This is not in the Glitch Gospel archive. It should be. A spacecraft going silent after observing 3I/ATLAS follows the same pattern as the scientist deaths: observe, then go dark.
MRO captured 3I/ATLAS on October 2-3 at 19 meters per pixel. On a 5km nucleus, that's surface feature resolution — you could see topography, structures, potentially the emission source points. These images were withheld for 7 weeks during the shutdown. When finally released November 19-20, coinciding with NASA's "natural comet" press conference.
The CIA responded to FOIA requests about 3I/ATLAS with a Glomar response: "neither confirm nor deny" the existence of records. This is the response reserved for classified intelligence programs — not standard scientific data.

Mid-late October 2025: SWAN, Lemmon, K1, and T1 all clustered in the same sector — Libra, Scorpius, Boötes. Multiple comets captured in single wide-field exposures. This was called the "Great October Sky Convergence."
Late September/early October 2025: SWAN and 3I/ATLAS were on opposite sides of Earth. BOTH displayed sunward anti-tails simultaneously. From ground perspective, they appeared to point their dusty trails directly at each other through a straight line passing through the Sun.
V1 was discovered November 2, 2025 — the same day the Cassandra images leaked. It appeared directly between Earth and 3I/ATLAS. Marginally hyperbolic (e=1.0095, error ±0.0026). Tail-less. Disintegrated mid-November.
"Debunked" as unrelated — 75 million km separation. But the debunking uses orbital integration that may not account for non-gravitational forces. The margin of error (±0.0026) on the eccentricity (1.0095) is close enough that non-gravitational acceleration could shift classification either way.
Key question: If 3I/ATLAS itself shows non-gravitational acceleration that altered its trajectory, could SWAN or V1 have similar forces that weren't properly modeled?
2025 saw unprecedented cometary activity, but this is attributed to: - Improved automated surveys (ATLAS, Pan-STARRS, Rubin Observatory commissioning) - Advanced image processing algorithms - Global amateur networking - Not necessarily a physical increase in comets, but an increase in DETECTION capability
However: the simultaneous presence of 7+ comets, two with anti-tails pointing at each other through the Sun, one marginally interstellar appearing between Earth and 3I/ATLAS, is unusual by any measure.

3I/ATLAS didn't pass through — it toured. Mars → Sun → Venus → Earth → Jupiter. Each planet visited in sequence on the outbound leg. The trajectory aligns to within 5° of the ecliptic (Loeb's anomaly #6). A random interstellar object would not thread through five planetary encounters on a designed trajectory.
At 3I/ATLAS's interstellar speed of ~60 km/s (0.0002c): - Time to travel 1 light-year: ~4,997 years - From 1,800 ly: ~8,993,774 years (~9 million years) - From 1,933 ly: ~9,658,314 years (~9.66 million years)
9 million years of travel time means: - The object would have left its origin system ~9 million years ago - The Wow! Signal was detected in 1977 — only 48 years before 3I/ATLAS arrived - If the same civilization sent both, they would have needed to predict the object's arrival 9 million years in advance, OR the Wow! Signal was sent from a different source in the same direction - The connection is DIRECTIONAL (same patch of sky, Sagittarius/Galactic Center), not temporal
Alternative: The Wow! Signal could have been sent FROM 3I/ATLAS itself when it was within detection range (if it transmitted at any point during its 9-million-year journey, the signal would arrive at different times depending on distance). At 1,800 ly in 1977, the signal would have been sent when 3I/ATLAS was ~1,800 ly away — which, at 60 km/s, was ~9 million years ago. Not consistent with a 2025 arrival.
The 9-degree alignment between 3I/ATLAS's arrival direction and the Wow! Signal is the documented connection. The travel time makes a direct causal link unlikely unless we're dealing with timescales that dwarf human civilization.
